The Rite Of Christian Initiation Of Adults (RCIA)

The RCIA is a four step program through which adults become active, participating members of the Catholic church. It is more than just a new way to prepare adults for Baptism, or for other Christians to become Catholics; being baptized and received into the Church are only part of the final steps. The goal of the RCIA process for its participants is "full communion", which means full, conscious and active participation in the Eucharist and the whole life of the Catholic faith community.
